About Dr. Strait
Dr. Strait is a licensed psychologist specializing in work with adults. She earned her Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science-Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from West Virginia University. Dr. Strait completed her internship training at Texas Tech University Student Counseling Center, where she worked with college students. She completed her post-doctoral internship at a neuropsychology private practice in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Strait has experience working in a wide range of settings, including college counseling centers, community mental health centers, various hospitals, and private practice. She also has experience conducting psychological and neuropsychological evaluations, as she has worked with survivors of brain injury. Her strong generalist training, as well as her experience in the field of neuropsychology, has prepared her to work with diverse populations. Dr. Strait has specialized training in treatment of depression, anxiety, grief/loss, adjustment concerns (such as divorce, work problems, going away to school, etc.), diversity and multicultural issues, and trauma.
Dr. Strait is a full member of the American Psychological Association, the Texas Psychological Association, and the Houston Psychological Association. She is also credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
